Pre-Cinco de Mayo @ MCM TODAY

We may be a few days early, but come stocked with feast-worthy fare for your weekend celebration. Snag some fish from Coastside for tacos, and citrus or strawberries to serve a twist with your classic margarita.

ZIA will also showcase hand-made apparel in celebration of the holiday, displaying their dedication to “producing original artwork honoring indigenous mexican roots.”

This year brings the 8th annual party in Dolores Park celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla. 10am-6pm. Check out SF Cinco de Mayo for more info.

A little history, a little truth:
This Saturday is Cinco de Mayo, an international celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. America celebrates Cinco de Mayo nationally, according to Wiki. It is celebrated regionally in Mexico, “in the mexican state of Puebla to commemorate the Mexican army‘s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.”
