Commonwealth restaurant will donate $10 to the Mission Community Market for the sale of each tasting menu purchased throughout September. Well, we’re pairing up with Commonwealth in another delicious way this month–the Chef’s Market Box!

Our Chef’s Market Box is more than a CSA–it’s a set of ingredients sourced from MCM’s vendors, perfectly portioned to create a recipe designed by a local culinary rock star. The market boxes are sold in partnership with Good Eggs.

Chef Jason Fox of Commonwealth has created an exclusive recipe that truly celebrates what’s in season. This market box contains all the farm-fresh ingredients you’ll need to create a chilled pepper soup, beet and spinach salad, and early girl tomato bruchetta. Order today and it will be ready for pickup or delivery on Thursday, September 27th.

Check out their farmer’s market menu to see what they’ll have on offer.

We’re very happy that Roli Roti will be joining the market this week, and we hope that all our loyal patrons will come out to show them some love on their first day!

The return of figs!

Faithful fans of MCM will remember that we told you a while back that figs have two growing seasons each year. Well, the time has come to snatch up those little green baskets filled with pure joy and deliciousness for the second time this summer. Arata Farm has them at the moment, and they are plump, ripe, and full of flavor. If you’ve never tried a fig before, be sure to come on down and give ’em a whirl. They taste delicious when paired with the sage honey sold by California Olive Oil or a little lemon quark from Spring Hill Cheese.

Check out this great recipe for a fig tartlett with goat cheese.
