Hi all you Mission Community Market goers!

I am Caseysimone, MCM’s newest intern. I’m a San Francisco native, momentarily a Vermonter as I finish up my undergrad at Bennington College, back in the Bay working with the good folks at MCM for my school’s annual internship term (FWT).

Having grown up and gone to school in the Mission, I am really excited to be back here working in the community. I look forward to meeting you all and talking about the Mission, food, social media, architecture and planning, music, and all things Mission Community Market!

Also keep your eyes peeled for my new blog series including:

“What’s That?”: Kick-start your week with a sneak peek of what will be at MCM each Thursday

“Mercado Kitchen”: On Wednesdays look for a special market recipe made with ingredients hand-picked from MCM

“Friday Feature”: A special feature about people and organizations that make the market great, or exciting happenings at the market, and more!

I can’t wait to see you around the market!

What are you thankful for?

Thanksgiving is almost upon us! What are you thankful for? If you appreciate our fun-filled, family-friendly community market, consider helping us grow! Wondering how you can help out?

  • By making a monetary donation to help this non-profit marketplace enhance the community through nutrition education, arts and cultural programming, and physical improvements to the street!
  • By making an in-kind donation of something off our wish list to help streamline our weekly operations so our market runs smoothly each week.
  • Volunteer your time by helping to staff the market, or with a variety of other projects.
  • Tell your friends! We want everyone in the Mission to know about all the awesomeness that can be found at 22nd and Bartlett on Thursday evenings.

Commonwealth restaurant will donate $10 to the Mission Community Market for the sale of each tasting menu purchased throughout September. Well, we’re pairing up with Commonwealth in another delicious way this month–the Chef’s Market Box!

Our Chef’s Market Box is more than a CSA–it’s a set of ingredients sourced from MCM’s vendors, perfectly portioned to create a recipe designed by a local culinary rock star. The market boxes are sold in partnership with Good Eggs.

Chef Jason Fox of Commonwealth has created an exclusive recipe that truly celebrates what’s in season. This market box contains all the farm-fresh ingredients you’ll need to create a chilled pepper soup, beet and spinach salad, and early girl tomato bruchetta. Order today and it will be ready for pickup or delivery on Thursday, September 27th.
